What is the Meta Ad Library?

Meta’s public list of every ad running on Facebook and Instagram, from any brand.

Anyone can look, but you scroll through ads one card at a time, and it doesn’t tell you which ones matter.

Here you name a brand and get all its live ads in one sheet: each ad’s opening line, where it shows, when it started and how long it has run.

How it works

  1. Name the brand

Its name, its Facebook page or its website. If two pages share a name, you pick the right one, so you never get a lookalike's ads.

  2. It reads every live ad

EverAsk opens each ad, notes its opening line, format and where it shows, and works out how many days it has run.

  3. Get the sheet

One row per ad, longest running first, with copies of the same ad grouped together. Narrow it down in plain words: only video, only the UK.

Brands pay for every day an ad runs, so the ones they keep usually work. It isn’t proof, but it’s the best sign the library shows.

What you get

You ask: “Which opening lines does Lumelle Skin keep using in its ads?”

An expert noticing a change. It’s their most used, and longest running.

9 of their 32 live ads open that way, and one has run for 143 days. Discount ads come and go within a week.

Frequently asked questions

How do I search the Meta Ad Library?

On Meta's own site you pick a country, search a page name and scroll the results one card at a time. EverAsk runs the same search for you and returns every live ad as a sheet you can sort.

Does the Meta Ad Library show how much a brand spends?

Only for ads about politics, elections and social issues. For ordinary ads it shows the ad, when it started and where it runs, plus reach and audience for ads shown in the EU.

Can I see ads that have stopped running?

Meta keeps stopped ads visible mainly for ads shown in the EU. If you run the same search again later, the sheet keeps its own record of which ads stopped.

Does it cover Instagram as well as Facebook?

Yes. The library covers Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Meta's partner apps, and the sheet shows where each ad appears.

Why are some of a brand's ads missing?

Usually they run from a different page, like a regional or sub-brand page. Search by the brand's website as well as its name, and every page that links to it is included.

Is there a Meta Ad Library API?

Meta's own API covers political and issue ads, and EU ads. EverAsk reads the public library directly, so ordinary ads in any country come back too.
