Competitor keyword research
See the Google searches that bring a rival visitors, and which ones you could win.
What is competitor keyword research?
Finding the Google searches that already send visitors to a rival’s website.
Each of those searches is a keyword. When a site shows up in Google’s results for a search, people say it ranks for it. When someone clicks it, the site gets a visit.
Put all of a rival’s keywords in one list and you can see what people want, and which of those searches you could show up for too.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find out which keywords a competitor ranks for?
Type their website and your country. EverAsk looks up every Google search their site shows up for, using Ahrefs and DataForSEO, and gives it back as a sheet: the search, how many people make it each month, where they rank and the page that ranks.
Can I see a competitor's website traffic?
Not their real numbers: only the site's owner sees those. Visits are estimated from where they rank and how many people search, which is how Ahrefs and similar tools work, and the sheet says it is an estimate.
What is the difference between a business competitor and a search competitor?
A business competitor sells what you sell. A search competitor is any site that shows up for the searches you want, which can be a blog, a magazine or a free tool. It is worth checking both.
Which competitor keywords should I go after first?
Searches that plenty of people make, that are not too hard to rank for, and that fit what you sell. The sheet marks these and leaves out searches for the rival's own name.
Can I research only part of a site?
Yes. Give a part of the site, like /blog or a single page, and you only see the searches that part shows up for.
How is this different from a keyword gap analysis?
This shows everything one rival shows up for. A keyword gap analysis compares their list with yours and keeps only the searches you are missing.
