What is a website traffic estimate?
A best guess at how many people visit a website from Google each month.
Only a site’s owner can see its real numbers. Everyone else works them out from the searches the site shows up for on Google, which is what EverAsk does for any site you name.
How it works
Paste the sites
A few websites or a few hundred, from anywhere.
EverAsk works out each site's visits
From every Google search the site shows up for, using live search data.
Get the sheet back
Every site side by side, with how its visits changed in six months.
- 33,100 people search“coffee subscription”
- ridgelineroasters.com shows up2nd
- about 15 in 100 of themclick it
- about 5,000 visits a month
That’s one search. EverAsk does this for every search the site shows up for, and adds them up.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is a website traffic estimate?
Good enough to compare sites with each other, which is what most people need it for. For any one site it can be well off the site's own numbers, because it is worked out from searches and averages, not from a real visitor count.
Why doesn't it match my Google Analytics?
Your analytics counts every real visit. The estimate counts only visits from Google search, worked out from where the site ranks, so the two rarely match. Use the estimate to compare sites, and your own analytics for your own site.
Does it count visits from ads, social media or email?
No. It counts visits from Google search results only. Ads, social media, email and people typing the address straight in cannot be seen from outside the site.
Can I check a competitor's traffic?
Yes. Paste their website and you get an estimate of the visits Google sends them each month, and how that changed over six months.
How many sites can I check at once?
As many as you need. A short list comes back in about a minute. A few hundred sites take a few minutes and fill the sheet as they finish.
What share of people click the first result on Google?
About 27%. The second result gets about 15%, the third 10%, the fourth 7% and the fifth 5%. Below that it drops off quickly, which is why a site's spot matters so much.
