Ways to make it last
Start a new chat for a new topic. Long chats use more of the limit, because each reply works with the whole conversation.
Attach only the files you need for the question, and turn off tools such as Research when you do not need them.
Use a lighter model for light jobs. Sonnet and Haiku use less than Opus or Fable.

How do Claude's usage limits work?
Every Claude plan has a usage limit that resets on a rolling five-hour window. Paid plans also have a weekly limit. There is no fixed number of messages: longer chats, files, bigger models and tools like Research use more.
When does Claude's limit reset?
The session limit resets five hours after your session starts. The weekly limit on paid plans resets at a set day and time for your account.
How much more does Max give than Pro?
Pro gives at least five times the free plan's usage per session. Max gives five or twenty times Pro's, for $100 or $200 a month.
What can I do when I hit Claude's limit?
Wait for the reset, upgrade, or on a paid plan turn on usage credits billed at API rates. You can also keep working with another model in the meantime.
