A replay of EverAsk at work. The request typed was: These are the newsletters and offers I got this month. Tell me which ones to unsubscribe from and which to keep, based on whether I open them, and tell me the quickest way to stop the rest. Don't change anything in my Gmail. [1] Rowan Garden Centre offers: 14 emails, opened 0. [2] Parish News: 1 email, opened 1. [3] Daily Deals UK: 31 emails, opened 0. [4] The Guardian Morning Briefing: 22 emails, opened 19. How it works

Three steps. You stay in charge of every change.

    Show it what you get

Paste the senders you're tired of, or with Gmail connected, ask EverAsk to look for newsletters and offers.

What EverAsk said

Based on your open rates, here's the split — no changes made to your Gmail.

Keep these 3 (you actually read them):

SenderVolumeOpened
The Guardian Morning Briefing2219 (86%)
National Trust members' news22
Parish News11

The Guardian is your biggest single sender by volume, but at 86% opens it's clearly earning its place — keep it, and only prune it if the daily hit starts feeling like noise.

The quickest way to stop the rest:

One-click unsubscribe in Gmail — open any email from the sender, and Gmail shows an Unsubscribe link right next to the sender's name at the top (it also offers it in the menu). One click, done. This takes about 5 seconds per sender, and it's the only method that actually removes you from the list.

Start with Daily Deals UK, since it's 31 emails on its own — that alone clears nearly half the clutter.

What EverAsk can and can't do

Summed up from EverAsk's own answer, when we asked it to be honest about its limits.

It can

  • Find the senders. It can search your mailbox and tell you who is mailing you, how often, and which are bulk marketing rather than a real person.
  • Read the unsubscribe details. Most bulk mail carries an unsubscribe address. EverAsk can read it and offer to send the request for you.
  • Give you a list to check. Sender, how many emails and what it suggests. You decide, and nothing happens until you say so.
  • Set up filters, on your word. So future mail from a sender skips your inbox. That is a real change, so only when you agree.

It can't

  • Click links on web pages. Where a sender only offers a web page to unsubscribe, you click that one yourself. EverAsk points you straight at it.
  • Promise it worked. Unsubscribing is a request. Some senders take a few days, and some ignore it.

A word of warning about spam

For spam or a company you don't recognise, use Report spam instead of Unsubscribe. Unsubscribing tells a shady sender your address is read, which can mean more mail, not less.

How to unsubscribe in Gmail yourself

  1. Open an email from the sender you want to stop.
  2. At the top, next to the sender's name, click Unsubscribe.
  3. Confirm in the box that appears. That's it.
  4. No link at the top? Scroll to the bottom of the email and use its unsubscribe link.

Which email address does Daily Deals UK use for unsubscribe?

Stuck on one? Ask EverAsk. These are the next questions it offered in the run above.

What you get every time

1

Keeps what you read

Newsletters you actually open stay. Only the ones you ignore are suggested for stopping.

2

Biggest wins first

It starts with the sender that sends the most, so the first few clicks clear the most clutter.

3

Nothing changes without you

EverAsk reads first and tells you what it suggests. Your Gmail changes only when you say so.

When it helps most

A calmer inbox

Stop the daily offers you never open, so the emails from people you know are easy to see.

Fewer sales emails

Shops, deal sites and energy tips you signed up for years ago, cleared in a few clicks.

Keeping the ones you like

The parish news, the morning briefing, the members' letter: the mail you read stays put.

Is it safe?

Yes. You stay in charge of your email the whole time.

  • It reads before it acts

EverAsk looks and suggests. Nothing is unsubscribed, filtered or deleted until you tell it to.

  • Your emails stay private

Your email is used to answer your question and nothing else. It is not used to train AI.

  • You're in control

Choose exactly what EverAsk may do in Gmail, and disconnect it whenever you like.

Gmail

Search your inbox, read threads, and stay on top of email.

Tools permission

Choose when EverAsk is allowed to use these tools.

  • Fetch emails
  • Create Gmail filter
  • Move to Trash

In EverAsk you choose, one by one, what it may do in your Gmail.

Common questions

Can EverAsk unsubscribe for me?

Partly. EverAsk can find the senders and read their unsubscribe details, and where a sender offers an email address for unsubscribing it can offer to send that request for you. Where a sender only offers a web page, you click that link yourself.

Will it delete my emails?

No. EverAsk reads first and changes nothing in your Gmail unless you tell it to. Deleting stays switched off unless you allow it.

How do I unsubscribe in Gmail myself?

Open an email from the sender. Gmail shows an Unsubscribe link next to the sender's name at the top. Click it and confirm. If there is no link, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

Should I unsubscribe from spam?

No. For spam or senders you do not recognise, use Report spam instead. Unsubscribing tells a shady sender your address is read, which can bring more mail.

Is my email used to train models?

No. Your mail is used to answer your question and nothing else. You can revoke Gmail access at any time.

Ready for a quieter inbox?

Connect your Gmail, ask what you never read, and stop it in a few clicks.

Clean up my inbox
