Planned against actual for a two-income home, the overspend flagged while there is month left.

How it works

  1. Pick a budget type

Personal monthly, household, freelance income, startup runway or department spend. Each starts with categories that fit how that money actually moves.

  2. Bring in your numbers

Type them, or import a bank or card CSV. EverAsk proposes a category for each transaction and you correct the ones it got wrong, it remembers your corrections.

  3. Watch the variance

Planned against actual, per category and per month, with the overspend highlighted. Charts and the annual rollup update as you enter.

Frequently asked questions

Is the budget template free?

Yes. Build a budget, import transactions and export it on the free plan. Paid plans add multi-user sharing and unlimited saved budgets.

Can I import my bank statement?

Yes. Upload a CSV export from your bank or card, and EverAsk maps the columns and suggests a category per transaction for you to confirm.

Does it work for business as well as personal?

Both. Choose a business budget and you get categories for payroll, software, contractors and marketing, plus a runway view.

Can I export to Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes, export to .xlsx or CSV with formulas intact, so the file keeps working outside EverAsk.

Will adding a category break the totals?

No. Rollups are structural rather than hard-coded ranges, so new rows and categories are picked up by the totals and the charts automatically.
